Film Week!

After months of no cinema last week I went 3 times! Bang bang bang, it was fabulous. The first visit was totally impromptu, I had been for cream tea with Cat and we were mooching about town wondering what to do afterwards. Almost simultaneously we both suggested cinema. A very quick discussion and decision making process took place and we were suddenly sat down waiting for 'Now You See Me' to start. We couldn't have made a better choice, it was fun, heist-tastic, and totally hit the Tuesday afternoon spot. Film week had begun!

Next up was the pre-planned 'Monsters University'. I was really looking forward to it and wasn't at all let down, though I did kind of miss Boo, she is beyond cute. And I loved the Blue Umbrella story at the beginning, those Pixar people are clever indeedy.

By the time film 3 came around I was beginning to wonder how I could have gone so long without seeing any films. I'm hooked right back in and already planning what is next. The final film of the week was fittingly the final in Richard Linklater's Before trilogy: Before Midnight. This was not so easy to watch and even though I like to think that all over the world there are people sitting round tables eating and talking so seriously and intently, the reality is probably not quite like that. The intensity of the film, and the close quarters parts of it were filmed in, as well as a whole scene where Julie Delpy was topless and being so serious and intense...to be honest I was quite glad when it was over. I'm glad I saw it but it's definitely not one I could watch over and over again, unlike the first, Before Sunrise, which was a lovely and charming watch.

Film week! Loving it. I think next on the list is The Bling Ring, but before that I might fit in Renoir...so much choice. Films are ace they are, totally ace.
