"exercise is fun"

That there is my new mantra. Or at least, I'm trying to make it my new mantra. Let me explain. For the longest time I've enjoyed being a lazy person who if forced to choose would opt for a chill out on the sofa over exercise. But I'm also a lazy person who enjoys cake. And biscuits. And icecream. So it was bound to catch up with me at some point. So now I'm a person who says things like "exercise is fun". Honest.

Went to the gym tonight after work. I don't think that fun is the right word. But I cycled 5km and rowed a few more and then walked uphill for a few more. All the time trying to avoid looking at myself in the HUGE mirror that is right in front of all these exercise machines (whose idea was that by the way? Horrible). Things I learned as I exercised:
1. My roots are SHOCKING! See I told you that mirror is bad
2. The Fratellis are definitely the best for making you row faster
3. The man with the dodgy porno-stash and mullet should not try to talk to me
4. Thank god for ipods (see above)
5. Grey is not a good colour choice for exercise clothing

To top off all this fantastic exercise, from the gym to my house is 15 minutes walk uphill so I walked home, eating an apple, feeling all holier than thou. Even made it past the most fabulous fish n'chip shop in my fair village (does inhaling deeply and saying aaahhh as you walk past count as consumption?) to enjoy a healthy dinner of scrambled eggs and a Food Doctor seeded bagel, yumness.

But never fear, this is all just a temporary thing I'm sure. Once that small roll of lard that is gathering dangerously close to the top of my jeans disappears, I'll be back on the sofa, enjoying a celebratory hobnob or 4. Ta-ta xx

What I read was 'Blah blah blah Fratellis blah blah ipod blah blah blah hobnobs.'
