Fizz has a new toy. And when Fizz gets a new toy she likes to play with it lots. Her latest new toy is YouTube, as you'll see from the previous post. Tuesday night rolled around and we went off to theatre as usual, lots of painting, lots of jobs. I was painting stars. Fizz Scorsese was wandering around with her camera and captured me in action, which you can enjoy here. You can watch it without sound but then you won't be able to enjoy all the special sound effects that she's put in.
Reviews are always welcome. I'll get me frock ordered ready for the Oscars... x

YouTube Video
Check this out! I'm so proud of it!
I went to a rehearsal for Song Birds, the forthcoming Billingham Players production, and I took some photos and some video. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do anything with the video, but I downloaded Microsoft MovieMaker (which involved upgrading to XP service pack 2, a nightmare) and had a play around with it. I'm really pleased with the result. Here's a link, but if that doesn't work, just go to www.youtube.com and search for billingham players.
Helen, the woman who's singing in the first bit of the clip, has a fantastic voice, doesn't she?

hot
wow, what a weekend. The weather men got it wrong when they predicted rain and big black thunder clouds cos it has been a HOT weekend. Go-jus sunshine all weekend. Glorious my friends, glorious. I don't know what it is about hot weather but it seems that lots of other things have been hot about this weekend as well.
First off was Dr Who. He was scccchmooookin' in this week's episode. Fizz wasn't at all sure when it started and texted me to say not enough of the Dr on the screen but I had a feeling it was going to be a good one and I was not let down. It now ranks up there as my all time favourite episode, followed a very close second by the fireplace one. I think my fave bit was towards the end when him and Martha appeared, got out of a taxi, she was carrying a bag full of arrows on her back and he had the bow draped across one shoulder, someone called his name, he turned, ooohhh it's enough to make a girl go all a-quiver. Hawt!
And today, more hot weather. So hot that I was forced to buy two vest tops, a babydoll dress, and a stonking good hat: baker boy, khaki green, oh so funkay, must be worn at a jaunty angle. I trotted off up to my parents for dinner and one man almost fell out of his car to get a look at my hat so it's obviously a good purchase :o)
On the way, I had one of those automotive moments that only happens if you have any interest in cars. My interest waxes and wanes but it's always there cos my dad's a mechanic so I grew up around a great variety of cars. Anyhoo, back to the story. There I am strutting down the street in my new hat when this car roars past me. And it was hot. It was long, silver, sleek, oh so sexy. I did that thing where you stop and just watch it drive by knowing that the guy driving it is SO LOVING his hot car. To cut a long story short, it was a Nissan car, Wavey works for Nissan, I texted him to see what it was and could he borrow one for the weekend. Turns out it was one of these:

Wow. That is one hot car. I think that car would make me purr with delight. I want that car. See? Hot.
Here's hoping the hot weather stays cos I lurve it so x

other stuff
It's been quite a while since any postings and I had a whole few days of lots of fun that was centred around music. As I didn't post about it there and then I decided to just make some odd comments, put a couple of photos up and a couple of links and then you can dip in and out at your leisure.
First up was the Blaises Revival night. For the uninitiated, this was a club that used to exist in M'Bro and it was famous for many things, mainly the sweat dripping from the ceiling and the rock room that, well, rocked. It closed down in 2002 and became toilets for the Walkabout pub. Some clever bod (read geek) has decided that it'd be fun to open it up again for the summer. We found out. We got excited. We went. In case you want to go
For said night the wardrobe choices were a nightmare. I used to go in DM boots, bad straight legged jeans and a huge checked shirt. I do not own any such fashion monstrosities. Everything in my wardrobe is pretty and nice. So I went with a denim mini (Fizz calls it a belt but it's not that short), black boots, black tee, and very funkay hair. I looked to Amy for inspiration and created the Dizz beehive:

I'm not entirely sure what was going on in the next photo but I think I was in a blissful music state:

Do we likey?
And finally, went to Middlesbrough Music Live at the weekend with Tizz. This is a fantastic free music festival that is hosted in our fair town. Bands come and play. People drink and fall over. We usually eat pizza for dinner. And drink pints out of plastic glasses. And this time we had hot donuts. Fresh hot donuts. Yum. We saw a couple of good bands but my fave by far was Amy Macdonald. She was absolutely amazing. She did a fantastic cover of Mr Brightside by The Killers which blew me away. And her bassist was absolutely lush. I've just pre-ordered her cd so if you get a chance, check her out.
Thus endeth the other stuff. Ta-ta x

"exercise is fun"
That there is my new mantra. Or at least, I'm trying to make it my new mantra. Let me explain. For the longest time I've enjoyed being a lazy person who if forced to choose would opt for a chill out on the sofa over exercise. But I'm also a lazy person who enjoys cake. And biscuits. And icecream. So it was bound to catch up with me at some point. So now I'm a person who says things like "exercise is fun". Honest.
Went to the gym tonight after work. I don't think that fun is the right word. But I cycled 5km and rowed a few more and then walked uphill for a few more. All the time trying to avoid looking at myself in the HUGE mirror that is right in front of all these exercise machines (whose idea was that by the way? Horrible). Things I learned as I exercised:
1. My roots are SHOCKING! See I told you that mirror is bad
2. The Fratellis are definitely the best for making you row faster
3. The man with the dodgy porno-stash and mullet should not try to talk to me
4. Thank god for ipods (see above)
5. Grey is not a good colour choice for exercise clothing
To top off all this fantastic exercise, from the gym to my house is 15 minutes walk uphill so I walked home, eating an apple, feeling all holier than thou. Even made it past the most fabulous fish n'chip shop in my fair village (does inhaling deeply and saying aaahhh as you walk past count as consumption?) to enjoy a healthy dinner of scrambled eggs and a Food Doctor seeded bagel, yumness.
But never fear, this is all just a temporary thing I'm sure. Once that small roll of lard that is gathering dangerously close to the top of my jeans disappears, I'll be back on the sofa, enjoying a celebratory hobnob or 4. Ta-ta xx
